BOB TREVIN LIKES is inspired by the true friendship that writer/director Tracie Laymon formed with a stranger while searching for her father online. Often playing the role of a caregiver to people like her father who should be taking care of her, Lily Trevino longs for the family connection abandoned by her mother as a child and then by her father in her twenties. Bob Trevino has long worked alone in a construction company to support his wife Jeanie’s hair-cutting habit. The couple has endured much over the past decade, and Bob has struggled to put his wife first, despite his own feelings and need for companionship, meaning, and connectionβthat is, until he receives an unexpected Facebook message from a stranger. Lily and Bob’s blossoming friendship becomes a key source of connection and healing in their lives. Bob’s small acts of fatherly kindness fill the family void in Lily’s life and give her the power to change her course forever. The two must learn, in their own ways, that they are worthy of the extraordinary love shown through small acts of kindness.
